THE POWER OF MARVEL, - PART 1!

As most of the Marvel stories I initially read were in Power Comics reprints, I have decided to post the covers of these as well, along with any original images from the covers that I can find : -

  1. Never had any of these, although some of the Hulk, Thor, and Spider-Man covers look familiar. I think they were used for pin-up posters, and I probably saw ads for those in Marvel comics in the mid-sixties.

    1. Hi TC, yeah, it's a pity that the UK didn't ship any of our comics over to the States, but if you read any of the US originals, please feel free to chip in about anything.
I spent quite some time yesterday trying to find original images for Spidey on Pow!#1, Iron Man on Fantastic #1 and Subby and Iron Man on Terrific #1, so, if you, or anybody else, knows where any of them come from do please let me know!
I felt certain that I had seen a picture of Iron Man breaking his chains over on Kid's, but I couldn't find it!

  2. I know that the Iron Man transfer pic on Terrific #1 was originally a pin-up somewhere (perhaps MCIC - and yes, you did see it on my blog) and the Spidey transfer pic on Pow! #2 was also a poster in the '60s, but I can't recall if they'd appeared somewhere else prior to that. If you type in 'A Marvel Masterwork Pin-Up' into my search box, JP, it should take you to the Iron Man pic.

    1. Oh great, Kid, thanks for that! I'll add it to the post!
I was beginning to think that I may have got it confused in my memory with the cover of Iron Man #1!
